Member Spotlight

James Gilmore, PharmD, FCCM, BCCCP, BCPS is the Pharmacy Manager over Critical Care and the Emergency Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and has been in this position since 2018. Prior to moving to Southern California, James completed his postgraduate training and first few years of practice at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.  James recently received the FCCM Designation at the 2025 SCCM Annual Congress in Orlando.  Some of the accomplishments James is most proud of in his Cedars tenure is the expansion of Pharmacist scope of practice to better serve care of patients with COVID-19 or boarding in the Emergency Department- two developments that have and continue to test Pharmacist resilience in the acute setting.  Outside of the hospital, James loves to make bread and spend time with his two daughters. James also likes to follow the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, while trying unsuccessfully to forget the 76ers exist.

Being on the Board of Directors of SCCM Southern California has been invaluable as a way to network with professionals in a new community for James.  SoCal is vast and somewhat impenetrable without a foundation of California colleagues, and SCCM SoCal has provided both in person and virtual opportunities to teach and learn about practice sites across the region, as well as provide the opportunity to better know the people that make up the multidisciplinary care teams that he works with day to day.
