1. If your current SCCM membership is not up for renewal and you still have an interest in joining the Southern California Chapter, please click on the following link Southern California Membership to join the chapter. Chapter membership is only $45.00 per year. Your chapter membership may be prorated in the first year in order to synchronize with your SCCM membership. Please make sure that you are logged into your SCCM profile using your profile ID number. 

2. If your SCCM membership is up for renewal and you are renewing online, please make sure you click on the chapter membership option after choosing your SCCM membership level. If you are renewing over the phone, please let customer service know that you would like to join the Southern California Chapter.

3. If you are not currently an SCCM member but would like to join the Southern California Chapter, please also click the Southern California Membership link. Chapter membership is only $45.00 per year, please note that you will be prompted to login/join to create an SCCM profile. 

Levels of Membership

• Chapter Members are practitioners of any specialty or discipline involved in multi-professional critical care. Chapter Member shall have one vote on any matter on which Chapter Members are entitled to vote by law, and shall enjoy all rights and privileges of the organization. Chapter membership in this Corporation is not transferable or assignable. At least 60% of the Chapter Members must be full, SCCM members.

• Associate Chapter Members are individuals who are enrolled in training programs that relate to critical care medicine. Each Associate Chapter Members may attend the annual education meetings and shall have all rights and privileges of Chapter Members, except they may not vote, attend corporate business meetings except by invitation, or hold office. Associate Chapter membership in this Corporation is not transferable or assignable. 

• Sponsored Trainees: SCCM offers free membership to those in designated critical care training programs.
  • Program directors of accredited critical care training programs who maintain a Professional or Select membership with SCCM may enroll their students in the Sponsored Trainee Program. Trainees receive the benefits of Professional membership at no cost if they are part of a designated critical care training program.*
  • Within the United States
    • Physician training programs must be approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
    • Master of science in nursing or doctor of nursing practice programs focused in critical care, the training program must be approved by the American Association of Colleges of Nursingor the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
    • Pharmacists in critical care residency training programs must be approved by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
    • Physician assistant critical care postgraduate training programs must be approved by the Association of Postgraduate PA Programs.
    • All physician assistant and nurse practitioner programs are encouraged to apply regardless of accreditation status. SCCM will handle these applications and approvals on a case-by-case basis.
