April 2024 Education Committee Notes

The second Education Committee meeting of 2024 took place via Zoom on April 22nd, 2024. The committee members discussed planning for the 6th Annual Pharmacy Research Forum (Live activity). This is a CE event where SoCal area PGY-2, Critical Care Pharmacy Residents present the results of their longitudinal research projects. This year, the event will take place on June 20, 2024, from ~6pm-9pm, with a goal attendance of ~40 people, location TBD. The event will feature industry sponsorship, dinner, and CE presentations for 2 credits for pharmacists, physicians, nursing, NP/PA, and social work. The committee also discussed planning for the 2nd Annual SCCM SoCal Symposium, to take place on October 25, 2024, in Irvine. For this event, speakers have been confirmed, abstract submission site will tentatively be open from about May 1-August 1. Logistics discussed include seeking abstract peer-reviewer volunteers, advertising for the event, and setting up in-person attendance deadline. The next Education Committee meeting will be on June 24, 2024, from 2pm-3pm.
